Jhumka Gupta, ScD, MPH

Specifically, I investigate the mental and reproductive health implications of gender-based violence, and I conduct intervention studies aimed at reducing and preventing violence against women. As a daughter of refugee parents, I primarily work with vulnerable populations, both within and outside of the United States, and includes refugees, immigrants, and communities impacted by conflict. I also serve as Associate Editor of PLOS Global Public Health,  an ScD from the Harvard TH Chan School of Public Health.

I am an Associate Professor in the Department of Global and Community Health within the College of Public Health. My research program applies a social epidemiology framework towards advancing the science of gender-based violence against women and girls.
